FIRST BAPTIST ATLANTA RUSSIA 2006 MISSION
The national youth ministry team has expressed a deep desire for us to return to assist them with the main project for the year. This is multi-city campaign in the Voronezh oblast. Children and Youth Camps will be offered in several cities at the same time.
So here's a brief sketch:
Where: Voronezh, Russia
When: August 11-19, 2006 (Dates depend on flight availability)
What: Childrens and Youth Camps (VBS)
Activities: Music, Drama, Sports, Crafts, Bible Studies, English Lessons
Cost: $2,500
(The trip's cost includes travel visa, airfare, translators, food, lodging, ground transportation, training supplies, camp supplies, international medical insurance and projects funds)
What is the goal: To strengthen the local church, encourage the youth leaders, assist in reaching the youth. A majority of the church members are elderly and very, very conservative. The youth are seeking the Lord; however, are not readily accepted in the churches. In many cases the youth are very strongly urged to changed their outward appearance and behavior immediately. Of course we know the Holy Spirit will do the work of sanctification. This next generation needs to be reached so the church does not die. And those young people who have been raised up to lead need encouragement, training, and resources.
During this trip we will help the local churches attract more young people and grow by hosting childrens and youth camps for music, sports, and crafts. So let's have fun and bring Jesus to people, get them excited about church and following the Lord.
